Christian Fundraising for the New Decade

Posted by Fundraising Pro on February 2, 2010

Entering the new decade in the midst of a recession is obviously not the most ideal economic situation, especially for churches and other Christian organizations whose funds rely largely on giving and Christian fundraising.  But there are lessons to be learned about fundraising from the past decade and the perils of the economic recession that can make Christian fundraising in this coming decade more successful than ever.

As the stock market suffered in ‘08 and ‘09, many Christian organizations and churches worried that their funds would diminish as people seemingly had less and less money to give.  In this recent article , Tom Freiling of Samaritan Fundraising stated that “Church giving is down in every area, as well as giving for missions and special projects,” as it was reported that giving to churches fell between $3 and $5 billion during the recession.  Obviously, fundraising became essential for Christian organizations to continue their mission.  Ensuring that your Christian organization has experience when it comes to Christian fundraising is a must for the coming decade, as well as knowing where to turn for help with the Christian fundraising process.  Companies such as Samaritan Fundraising offer quick and easy ways to help your Christian organization raise money—even in the midst of the economic recession.

But another thing we learned from the recession is that, though people’s personal finances suffered, many came to the aid of struggling churches and Christian organizations when it came to giving and fundraising.  Many churches even saw growth as those hurt the most by the recession turned to the church for relief.  People proved willing to give to struggling ministries, and the Christian fundraising process, as Samaritan Fundraising has observed, remains as successful and important as ever.  The Samaritan Card, a discount card from Samaritan Fundraising, is finding huge success in Christian fundraisers throughout the country!

Streamlining your Christian fundraising process for the new decade with products like the Samaritan Card can help you prepare for whatever the next ten yeas have in store!

A Great Christmas Fundraiser

Posted by Aaron Jeschke on November 11, 2009

Don’ t look now. It’s about time to start thinking about those Christmas shopping lists. The Holiday season is always a  hectic time for ministers and donors alike. The problem is that even during this time many  groups put on church events and activities that require some measure of Christian Fundraising. The typical Christmas fundraisers usually involve products or services that can only be used seasonally and is something that donors may already have, such as Christmas wreaths. Wouldn’t it be great to provide people with a gift that keeps on giving throughout the entire year and raise the money you need? Can such a Christian Fundraising product exist?

The Samaritan Card, a shopping discount card that gives donors up to 50% off at over 100,000 merchants nationwide, is the gift that keeps on giving. The card can provide savings for an entire year and is extremely easy to sell. In times such these savings might be the best gift that you can give. The cards are also wallet-sized so they can be a great stocking stuffer! If you want a low stress Church fundraiser that can yield profits of up to 70% per card than I recommend you check out the Samaritan Card.

Knowing Your Fundraising Audience

Posted by Aaron Jeschke on November 9, 2009

It is always important when putting together a Christian Fundraiser to know just to whom you will be pitching your fundraiser. This could have a very significant impact on the profitability of your Church Fundraiser. If your “target market” includes those desiring to save money and not spend uselessly then likely a cookie dough fundraiser for you. Too many groups attach themselves to a Christian Fundraiser without ever thinking critically about their audience. If you have a group of donors who are willing to donate a significant amount than I wouldn’t suggest selling small items such as candy bars.

The vast majority of those to whom ministries will be “pitching” their Christian Fundraiser are typical Americans desiring to save money in tough economic times. The unemployment rate just recently climbed above the 10% mark so donors will be looking to save more now than they have in recent years. It is of vital importance to select a Church fundraiser that meets the demands of donors. Something that doesn’t cost much up front and ideally might even save them money in the long run. Savings are of the utmost importance. Every dollar counts.

I believe that the Samaritan Card is the perfect fundraiser for the majority of American donors. Individuals who purchase the card tap into exclusive savings of up to 50% off at over 100,000 retail, recreation and restaurant merchants nationwide. After just a couple of uses (sometimes only one use) it is as if the donor has paid anything at all. All the donor needs to do is make a one-time $20 payment and then begin saving what could amount to hundreds of dollars over the course of the year. Providing a quality Christian Fundraiser that meets donors needs has never been easier.

Allow Us to be Your Armor-Bearer

Posted by Aaron Jeschke on October 12, 2009

We live in a world where companies are continuously jockeying for financial position in order to maximize profits and minimize costs. This is the vision of corporate America but it is not the vision of Samaritan Fundraising. Our goal is to be the “armor-bearer” for Churches, Christian schools, youth groups and other Christian organizations nationwide. What do I mean by armor-bearer? We want to make Christian fundraising as easy and effective as possible so that Christians can spend more time ministering and lest time worrying about Church fundraising. We want to bear your Christian fundraising burden.

It is this desire that inspired the idea of the Samaritan Card. We genuinely believe that the Samaritan Card, a shopping discount card that provides donors with up to 50% off at over 100,000 merchants nationwide, can ease your church fundraising burden and allow us to be your armor-bearer. It really is a fast, easy way to raise the money you need to build ministries nationwide. Our goal is to create a place where Christian fundraising has never been easier.

A Fundraiser that is Fun for Singles

Posted by Thomas Freiling on August 28, 2009

One of the more difficult groups of people to motivate when it comes to Christian Fundraising are Singles groups. Most singles are either completely engulfed in their career or searching for that special someone. The problem is that singles have a deep need for fellowship, but they don’t want to raise the funds to make it happen.

As a young single man myself their are a few things that I would not want to partake in when it comes to Church fundraising. First, there are few single men that I know that would want to participate in a bake sale. Think about it. Secondly, selling cookie dough or chocolate bars is hardly culturally acceptable for single adults to be participate in (though they would find it delicious). What singles groups need is a product that motivates them to sell for both intrinsic quality and social acceptability. The singles I know tend to have a pretty strong social conscious (they are trying to find that special someone).

I think the Samaritan Card is the perfect fundraiser for singles groups. Singles will be motivated to sell the product because it inherently benefits the donor and it is a socially acceptable and enjoyable product to distribute for singles. It is a product that singles would want to have for themselves. Why wouldn’t they want to sell it to a donor? It is a fast, fun, easy way to raise the funds that singles groups need!
